STEPHEN PEACE writes plays about the old South he grew up in and knows. He also writes what have been called unusual plays. The Southern plays he writes in old southern dialect.

And as he says, "my plays have bite." In other words, many times they can shock an audience or make them think about the play and what is said in the play for the next day or two.

IF you are looking for a Southern play or an unusual play by a Southern playwright then this is the place to be..

The plays range from plays about the 1830's slave plantaions to the presnt day. He writes about street people and Greek Gods in the same play. He writes about cemeteries and Messiance Jews. Many of his plays are in series. "I find that once I start writing about something I can't stop with just one play".
